SLX - CENTER LOCK - Disc Brake Rotor - ICE TECHNOLOGIES - 203/180/160/140 mm

SLX disc brake rotors deliver powerful and consistent brake performance for all riding conditions. The ICE TECHNOLOGIES FREEZA rotor significantly reduces heat build-up in the brake system to ensure consistent high performance braking even on the steepest downhill stretches. SHIMANO's CENTER LOCK mounting system makes installing and removing rotors quick and easy thanks to the spine mount and lock ring design.

The Shimano SM-RT70 is a center lock brake rotor with Ice-Tech technology. This means that the sandwich composite consists of two stainless steel layers with an internal aluminium layer. This ensures excellent heat dissipation even on long descents and difficult trails. The SM-RT70 rotor is recommended for newer SLX brakes, but is also compatible with other models.

Technical Specifications:

Ice-Tech Technology

Fading of the brake during prolonged uninterrupted operation, e.g. downhill, impairs braking performance. Shimano has introduced brake rotors and pads with Ice-Tech technology to create a cooling technology for consistently high braking performance. The brake rotor has a three-layer stainless steel sandwich structure on the outside encasing an aluminium core. It radiates heat better and reduces surface temperature (example: 400°C to 300°C). The brake pads also have cooling fins. The design of the rotor in combination with the cooling fins results in a longer service life of the pads, less braking noise, less fading and lower weight.
